GTG Training, in partnership with Finditintheblackcountry, were pleased to host ‘Opportunites for Success’, a breakfast meeting event that celebrated the success of local businesses, introducing them to buyers and suppliers from the Black Country.

The event was free to attend and delegates had the opportunity to meet with buyers from companies such as Carillion, Centro, Keepmoat, Thomas Vale, Keir, Speller Metcalfe and Wates.

There was also over 30 exhibitors on the day ranging across all specialities.

Delegates were treated to a complimentary breakfast on arrival, goody bags plus an access all areas tour of GTG Training Academy.

There were also presentations from four guest speakers; Councillor Peter Bilson from Wolverhampton City Council, Professor Carl Chinn MBE, James Cunnigham, head of enterprise and skills at Wolverhampton City Council and Eddie Hawthorne, group managing director at Arnold Clark Automobiles Ltd.

Jon Douglas, centre manager for GTG West Midlands said: ‘It was extremely encouraging to see GTG full of business people from the area networking with each other and creating a real buzz in the large atrium area within the academy. Equally encouraging to see was the larger businesses from within the Black Country actively looking to procure services locally. I was left with a sense of the appetite to position the Black Country as the 'heart beat' of UK industry.

Guest Speaker, professor Carl Chinn, highlighted the fact that rather than looking back at our rich industrial heritage with nostalgia we can look forward with optimism, tapping into the innovative nature of Black Country business leaders of past and present.

The event confirmed GTG as a prime location for events like this and was a great way to show off the facilities. If you are interested in booking GTG for an event or finding out more about the facilities on offer and other upcoming events, contact a member of our team today.
