A Wolverhampton based training provider has successfully assisted a manufacturer in the city to enhance and add to their existing workforce as they plan and grow their business.

Connecting through mutual membership with Made in the Midlands, GTG Training and NDT Midlands initially started working together in 2013 after GTG training opened the doors to their new site in Wolverhampton.

Stewart Dudwell, Managing Director of NDT Midlands, seized the opportunity to deal with a local training company who could provide the training he needed in a time scale that suited his business.

Stewart said: "Developing my workforce for the future is a key part of the company's planning. We have good people and we we need to look after them. Helping them develop will pay dividends in the end. The training has allowed our staff to take ownership of health and safety within the business, helping to provide a safe working environment overall. "

After mapping the skills gaps and where they could be developed in-house it became apparent that NDT Midlands would need to recruit for customer service, warehouse and logistics to keep up with predicted growth, and this too was an area that GTG Training helped in to upskill some of his staff with NVQs in Team Leadership and Business Administration.

Stewart concluded: "Committing to GTG was quite easy. I found them very approachable and they understood our training requirements. Once I saw their impressive facility and training rooms it was obvious that a sizeable investment had been made and they were serious on making their mark in to help companies like mine, right here in the Midlands."
